China to Send Chinese Traditional Medicine Team to Fight Covid-19 In Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: The Cambodian Minister of Health, Mam Bunheng, and the Deputy Director General of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Huang Luqi, have signed an agreement to send a team of traditional Chinese medicine experts to Cambodia to help strengthen Covid-19 prevention measures by integrating traditional Chinese medicine into treatment for the disease.

The agreement was reached during a meeting on Tuesday, 25 January, between the Minister of Health, Mam Bunheng, the Deputy Director of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the President of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Huang Luqi, and the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, Wang Wentian, with a delegation from the Ministry of Health in Phnom Penh.

The meeting was organized to take place during Deputy Director Huang Luqi’s visit to Cambodia, where he also visited the Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital in Preah Kosomak, which is set to be inaugurated soon.

Minister Mam Bunheng agreed on the initiative to send Chinese traditional medicine experts to help treat Covid-19 in Cambodia and thanked the Chinese delegation for this cooperation. He stressed that this effort to strengthen the capacity of Cambodian health officials will last not just for a year at the new Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital, but will also be expanded to other hospitals as well.
